This sweet and savoury marinade works perfectly with chicken drumsticks, but could be used on other cuts of chicken or even duck. This tenderises the meat and leaves it with a subtle tang of orange and the warmth of chilli. These go great with a cold beer.
- Fresh orange juice 150ml
- Chilli flakes 2tsp
- Drumsticks 6
- chilli powder 1tsp
- chilli flakes 2tsp
- Combine the orange juice, chilli flakes and chilli powder together in a mixing bowl.
- Place chicken into bowl
- Leave in fridge or cool place to rest for at least 30 min
Cook on the coolest part of the braai to ensure the chicken cooks evenly and all the way through to the bone. Make sure that the chicken keeps moving on the grill so that it doesn’t burn on the outside.
