Always a favourite whenever I braai, easy to make, tasty and a crowd pleaser, enjoy

Beef Kebabs

Ingredients

  • 700 grams Beef cubes
  • 3 mixed peppers
  • 2 red onions
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1tsp crushed garlic
  • 2 tsp bbq spice
  • 1 tsp mixed herbs
  • 10 Kebab sticks (wood)

 

Method

  1. Place kebab sticks in water for 30 mins before making kebabs so that when they go onto the braai they do not burn as quick.
  2. Cut peppers and onions into squares, sizes that are roughly the same as the beef cubes.
  3. In a mixing bowl pour in the olive oil, bbq spice, crushed garlic and mixed herbs and stir together.
  4. Place meat into mixture in bowl and leave to rest.
  5. After all those have rested for at least 30 mins we can start making our kebabs.
  6. First step you take one kebab stick, you push one piece of pepper on till 3 quarters of the way down then a piece of meat then a piece of onion then you repeat this 3 times until your stick is full.
  7. You follow this process until all 10 sticks are done and you have used all ingredients.
  8. You then place them in a dish and then pour left over mixture over the kebabs.

 

Vegetable kebabs

Ingredients

  • 4 tomatoes
  • 3 mixed peppers
  • 2 red onions
  • 18 mushrooms
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 1tsp crushed garlic
  • 2 lemons
  • Black pepper ground
  • 6 Kebab sticks (wood)

 

Method

  1. Place kebab sticks in water for 30 mins before making kebabs so that when they go onto the braai they do not burn as quick.
  2. Cut peppers and onions into squares, sizes that are roughly 2cm big.
  3. Cut tomatoes into wedges and keep mushrooms whole.
  4. In a mixing bowl pour in the olive oil, crushed garlic and stir together.
  5. We can now start making our kebabs.
  6. First step you take one kebab stick, you push one piece of pepper on till 3 quarters of the way down then a piece of tomato then a piece of onion then a mushroom then you repeat this 3 times until your stick is full.
  7. You follow this process until all 6 sticks are done and you have used all ingredients.
  8. You then place them in a dish and then pour the olive oil mixture over the kebabs.
  9. You now grind a fair coating of black pepper over the kebabs.
  10. You cut lemons in half and squeeze as much juice out as you can all over the kebabs.

 

We are now ready to braai our Kebabs…
